Colonial Courtyard celebrates National Assisted Living Week

This week is National Assisted Living Week and residents, staff, volunteers and families across the nation are celebrating, including those at Tyrone’s Colonial Courtyard.
There are several guest speakers who will visit the facility this week and the public is invited to attend.
Tracey Pierce, RN, from Omni Home Care visited earlier today. Using her 16 years of experience in home health care, Pierce spoke on Diabetes II.
Tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. a presentation on “Heart Health” will be presented by Georgine Safko-Dodson, MSN, RN, CHPN, CHHP, Certified Nursing Specialist with Home Nursing Agency Hospice. Refreshments will be served following the guest speaker.
As a special treat, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, noted author and playwright Judith Kaye will be on hand. Judith is from Tyrone and will have autographed copies of her book available to purchase.
Also on Friday, at 1:30 p.m., Mary Bach, Consumer Advocate from AARP, will present “Know the Hitch in the Pitch”. A light lunch will be provided at 12:30 following the days activities.
