Labor Day picnic fast approaching

The Tyrone Area Labor Day Community Picnic committee is in the planning stages for another successful year, and the day of the picnic is fast approaching.
Businesses and organizations are able to support the 2006 Tyrone Area Labor Day Community Picnic, scheduled for Monday, September 4 at Reservoir Park, by donating a bingo or attendance prize.
Activities during the picnic include attendance drawings, 50/50 tickets, entertainment by Kipp Woodring, food booths and prize bingo. Children can enjoy land and water games as well as watermelon and pie eating contests throughout the day.
Food booths will include Tyrone Rotary Club’s chicken barbecue dinners, along with various foods from Boy Scout Troop 103, Boy Scout Troop 20, Shrines Club, Women’s Club and PA Road Ramblers Camping Club.
Thanks to last year’s supporters, over 250 families enjoyed the picnic festivities.
Businesses and organizations can show their support by donating an item or gift certificate. Items could include: gift baskets, gift certificates, admission passes, any merchandise or item. Monetary donations will be used as cash prizes for children’s games and expenses.
Please contact one of the picnic committee members: Rose Black, Lloyd Patton, Christina Seiner or Amanda Golden to donate an item.
