Warriors Mark United Methodist Church to host Gospel Jamboree

Members of the Warriors Mark United Methodist Church are making big plans to host a special musical event this summer.
On Saturday, June 17 the church, located at 1840 Centre Line Road, will host a Gospel Jamboree, outside in the church parking lot. The fun-filled day will begin at 11 a.m. and the music will continue until 8 p.m.
This is the second year for the music festival and church members hope it will continue and become an annual event.
Admission to the event is free, but donations will be accepted.
According to Rev. Peggy Bonsell, several groups are scheduled to perform throughout the day. Each group will take the stage for fifty minutes, beginning each hour. The first performers will be Steve and Apryl Caldwell at 11 a.m.
Steinbeiser’s Gospel Band will perform at noon and 1 p.m., followed by Bill and Judy Jones at 2 p.m., The Heirsmen Quartet will take the stage at 3 p.m., then at 4 p.m. the Servello Family will share their music. K-D-K Ministries and Chosen (Contemporary Christian Music) will perform at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Finally the night will close with music from Phil McCaulley at 7 p.m.
Not only will the day be filled with music but there will also be an assortment of food, which will be available throughout the festival. All proceeds from the food booths will benefit the Warriors Mark UMC Youth Fellowship program. The menu will include meatball sandwiches, hot dogs with sauerkraut, sloppy joes, wings, macaroni salad, fruit salad (cantaloupe, strawberries, watermelon, grapes) baked beans and potato chips. Soda, water and coffee will also be available. Desserts will include ice cream cones, ice cream sundaes and cookies.
The public is invited to spend the day with neighbors and friends. Individuals should bring their own lawn chairs.
