Tyrone Hospital Art Gallery featuring new artist

The Tyrone Hospital Art Gallery is now featuring the work of Doris Garber of Tyrone. Garber’s exhibit will be on display until July 30.
Garber works with oil, watercolor, and acrylic. She is a seasoned artist who has enjoyed painting for more than 10 years. Her works are diverse as she generates pieces depicting animals, scenic beauty and still life.
Garber uses various medium to create her artistic works depending on the subject. Oil is her preferred medium to generate paintings depicting animals. She prefers to work with watercolor to paint scenery or natural beauty. Acrylic is her medium for still life.
Garber said, “I just get urges to paint. I do this humbly because I know there are quite a few excellent artists in this area.”
Garber’s paintings have been exhibited at the Sinking Valley Fair. One of her works, an oil painting of plums, is currently on display at the Altoona Oncology Center. She is a regular participant with other artists in art sessions held at the Tyrone Senior Center.
