Upcoming events for CPHS

With the warm weather months approaching, the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society has scheduled some upcoming events.
On Tuesday, May 16 and Wednesday, May 17 plan to join the staff of CPHS at an Altoona Curve game as they show off some of their best adoptable pets.
On Sunday, May 21 the annual “Pet Walk” is scheduled. As always, the event will feature giveaways, demonstrations, T-shirts, a grand prize for the best fundraiser and special appearance by everyone’s favorite mascot, Diesel Dawg. Interested individuals can pick up walk-a-thon sponsor sheets at the shelter or local vet offices.
Also, on Wednesday, May 24 and Thursday, May 25 there are more scheduled appearances at Altoona Curve games.
On June 1, join CPHS at a special open house hosted by the neighbors at the shelter, GTS Welding and Gas Supplies. There will be door prizes and other prize giveaways.
On July 1, the Bikers for Barkers benefit motorcycle dice run is scheduled to be held throughout the mountains of central Pa. New and exciting this year will be the start and finish of the run at Burgi’s Roundhouse.
There will be new games, giveaways, great food and drinks available. It will be a day-long party that starts at noon.
Pre-registration forms are available at the shelter and local cycle shops.
To guarantee the correct T-shirt size, pre-register by June 12. The $20 fee includes the ride, dice-roll prizes and a special dinner at Burgi’s. There will also be great entertainment by one of the area’s best bands as well as special auction items.
More detailed information about all of these events will be forthcoming in The Daily Herald. To contact the shelter, phone 942-5402.
For those who would like to help out the animals at CPHS but can’t make it to one of these events, items to be donated to the shelter throughout the year include: kitty litter, puppy and kitten food, leashes and collars, toys and treats for animals, bleach and laundry detergent, medium-sized gloves for cleaning, old blankets and towels, copy paper, postage stamps, hand sanitizer and paper towels.
