Three from northern Blair nabbed after alleged drug deal was interrupted

Three people from northern Blair County were detained after an alleged drug deal was interrupted at a parking lot at a Sunoco station on 17th Street in Altoona last week.
Blair County Drug Task Force agent Anthony Sassano said a tip was received by the Blair County Drug Hotline about drug-related activity at the location. Sassano said he was driving by the location and observed what appeared to be a drug deal.
Eight people were detained as a result of efforts made by task force agents last Thursday afternoon. Among those detained were 20-year-old Wesley RIchard Grove, of 10 Beechwood Drive in Antis Township, 20-year-old Brian Lynn Osterhout of Tipton and 23-year-old Sara Ann Young of 1211 W. Chestnut St., Bellwood.
Sassano indicated one suspect left the scene, possibly on foot, while another suspect who was in a vehicle drove away from the scene. He said authorities were able to confiscate $474 in cash and drug paraphernalia items such as syringes and spoons. Sassano said no drugs were seized during the incident. Sassano said Young had a six-month-old baby with her at the scene and Blair County Children and Youth Services were called in regard to the situation.
The three northern Blair suspects were facing misdemeanor charges. All three were released.
