Tenth annual environmental video competition announced

All Blair County students and teachers are invited to participate in The 10th Annual Environmental Awareness Video Competition.
Blair County student groups: elementary, middle and senior high schools are challenged to submit a 30-second videotaped message with “Recycle Right” as a theme.
Students are to produce the video in its entirety which includes script, music, lyrics and performance. The video tapes will be judged, and first, second, third and honorable mention winners will be selected from each of the three educational levels.
The first place winners in each division will receive a $500 check for their educational needs and a trip to the Carnegie Science Center that includes a visit to the OMNIMAX Theater, the Planetarium, and the USS Requin (a WWII submarine anchored in the Ohio River). Also, the first place videos may be aired as public service announcements.
The second place winners will receive a $300 check and the third place winners will receive a $200 check for their educational pursuits. Honorable mention winners, along with the first, second and third place winners, will receive a plaque for their efforts.
All winners will receive their awards from the Blair County Commissioners at a special presentation ceremony that will be held at the Blair County Courthouse.
