Tyrone Area junior high wrestlers open with win

The Tyrone Area junior high wrestling team opened their 2005-06 season at Moshannon Valley by trouncing the Black Knights 70-19 for Golden Eagles head coach Jason Bainey.
After Tyler Osterhout picked up a forfeit at 75, and Chase Weaver dropped a tough 4-0 decision at 80, a pin by Ronnie Garbinsky started a streak of 10 straight Eagle wins to put the win in the books.
Garbinsky (85) and Josh Graham (165) won by fall and Osterhout, A. J. Schopp (90), Ben Smerekar (95), Jimmy Weston (100), Doug Rudy (105), Chris Decker (138) and Kirby Lawrence (250) all picked up wins by forfeit.
Issac Walk won a 7-2 decision at 110, Jeremy Miller won a 14-3 major decision at 115, Josh Miller edged his foe 8-6 at 122, Jeremy Barlett won a 5-2 decision at 130, and Bryan Diehl won by a7-4 decision at 185, for the Little Eagles.
Eagles Notes: The Tyrone Moshannon Valley junior varsity and varsity wrestling matches originally scheduled for Tuesday at Moshannon Valley has been rescheduled to Saturday, Jan. 14, when the Eagles will wrestle Moshannon Valley and Pine Grove at Mo Valley….Next up for the Tyrone junior high is the Huntingdon junior high tournament on Saturday, Dec. 10, beginning at 9 a.m.
