Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary to hold quilt raffle

Once again, the Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary will hold a quilt raffle.
Over the years the Auxiliary has provided exceptional handmade items and this year is no exception. Prizes for the raffle include many impressive items. The first place winner will receive a hand-crafted full-size quilt created by Elsie Hershberger. Second prize is a 32 inch fiber optic snowman and third place is a Santa scene made of white porcelain, trimmed in gold. The lucky winners will receive their gifts just in time for the upcoming holiday season.
Chances are $1 each and the drawing will be held at the annual Christmas Tea and craft sale on Friday, December 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the hospital lobby.
In a recent letter, Auxiliary president Cindy McLarren said, “We know everyone seems to be asking for money these days, but we feel our hospital is special and hope you will continue to support us and keep it that way.”
All proceeds from the raffle benefit the Care Car operations, a free transportation service for residents of the Tyrone School District to obtain medical care at the hospital or their physician’s offices.
The Auxiliary also purchases needed medical equipment for the hospital and hold patient parties, where flowers and other special treats are shared with patients and hospital staff during the holidays.
Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Hospital Auxiliary or who would like to know more about the Auxiliary’s commitment to the Tyrone Hospital, is welcome to attend their meetings, held the second Tuesday of each month.
