Tyrone boys soccer team drops game to Huntingdon

The Tyrone boys soccer team hosted Huntingdon in the next-to-last match of their initial season.
The Golden Eagles lost both the varsity and the junior varsity games to Huntingdon.
Huntingdon won the varsity match 8-1.
The sole Tyrone goal was on a penalty kick from sophomore Jonathan Hampton.
\”We knew going in to this first season that we going to play very experienced and talented teams,” said Tyrone soccer coach Jim Raabe. “Keeping the scores down in these matches, scoring as often as we can, and trying our hardest to come up with the win, has been our main focus this season. We have a great bunch of kids to work with and they have been putting in the extra effort. The soccer program at Tyrone will continue to improve and we will be true competitors in the MAC. Please come out and support the kids at our last game on October 25, senior night, we will be ready to beat Penn Cambria and have another win under our belt.\”
Huntingdon also won the junior varsity contest, edging the Tyrone Jayvees by a 2-1 count. Tyrone’s goal was scored by freshman Anthony Henneman.
