Tyrone boys record first soccer win

The Tyrone boys soccer program is in its first year of play on a varsity level after playing as a club last year, getting matches wherever they could.
On Thursday, the boys soccer team under the leadership of head coach Jim Raabe reached a milestone for the program in winning their first-ever match, edging Philipsburg-Osceola 2-1 in overtime, at the Harry K. Sickler Sports Complex on Fifth Street.
Senior Dustin Brown scored the first goal for Tyrone in the first half. Freshman Dustin Elder’s score in overtime off a corner kick by senior Chris Bradigan with an assist also coming from Dustin Brown was the gamewinner.
Tyrone (1-8) will complete their initial season by hosting Huntingdon on Tuesday at the Sickler Complex beginning at 4 p.m.
