Dorothy Mae Detwiler

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Detwiler, 80, of RD 2, Tyrone, died Friday evening at Valley View Home.
She was born in Antis Township, a daughter of the late Walter Roy and Essie Mae (Jackson) Benn. She married Chalmer L. Detwiler on Nov. 2, 1945 at E.U. B. Church, Bellwood.
Mrs. Detwiler is survived by her husband of 59 years; sons: Larry G., Ronald L. and Gary A., all of RD 2, Tyrone; daughters: Sandra L. Nearhoof of RD 2, Tyrone, Jolene M. McRae of Waynesboro and Wanda K. Longfellow of North Chili, NY; 16 grandchildren; brothers: Robert of Denver, PA, Charles of Ft. Myers, FL, Ronald of RD 2, Tyrone and George of Tonawanda, NY; sisters: Verna Detwiler of Glasgow and Pearl Campbell of Whittier, CA.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Esther, an infant brother, Ralph and brother, Melvin.
Mrs. Detwiler was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Bellwood where she played piano and sang in the choir.
She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, baking and especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 21, 2005 at Calvary United Methodist Church, Bellwood with Rev. Norman Huff officiating.
Interment at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
