Tyrone tennis team falls to State College

The Tyrone Area girls tennis team had a tough match on Tuesday at State College.
The Lady Eagles dropped the match by a 7-0 score, with several of the State College girls ranked state-wide.
State College shutout the Tyrone girls in the singles matches, but Tyrone coach Mike Hample was quick to point out that the Lady Eagles were competitive in both doubles matches before falling to the much-more experienced Lady Lions.
“It was a very tough match, but our girls were in there fighting in both doubles matches. We were pretty much overwhelmed by a veteran experienced team. We are young and inexperienced, but will go on and gain experience as the season proceeds.”
The Tyrone girls tennis team is back on the road today with a trip to Central Mountain for a 4 p.m. match
