Lady Blue Devils knock West Branch from undefeated ranks

The Bellwood-Antis girls volleyball team traveled to Allport on Monday night for a confrontation between two undefeated MAC powers.
The Lady Blue Devils set the tone early with an easy 25-9 win in the opening game and then kept the pressure on with 25-15 and 25-19 wins to remain undefeated at 7-0, and send the Lady Warriors to their first loss of the season in six matches.
Chelsea Wilson led the Lady Blue Devils to the victory with 23 service points, including six aces, and added eight kills. Lauren Carter added a dozen digs, nine service points and eight blocks. Nicole Ross and Lauren Leap each added five service points for Bellwood-Antis.
The Bellwood-Antis junior varsity (7-0) also won their seventh straight match 27-25 and 25-15 to remain undefeated as well.
The Bellwood-Antis girls volleyball program won their 29th straight MAC Duvision III match and have never lost a division match in the three-year history of the MAC.
The next action for the B-A girls will be Wednesday at Claysburg-Kimmel, with the junior varsity match to begin at 6 p.m. before hosting the B-A Volleyball Invitational on Saturday.
