Tyrone Youth Baseball All-Star Summer Tournament review

The Tyrone 11 & 12 year old All-Stars played in 23 tournament games over the Summer of 2005.
The group really came together in the Williamsburg Tournament, dropping into the losers’ bracket and being forced to come all the way back to win the consolation final to earn a third-place finish in the 13-team tournament.
Derrick Emigh led the team in batting average with a .490 batting average. Emigh went 24-for-49 and also scored 20 times. Korry Cowher led the team in at bats (67) and hits (26) and runs scored (21), while hitting at a zesty .388 clip. Jordan Faretta was right behind the team leaders in batting (.463) and hits (25) and had the best RBI figure knocking in 23 runners.
John Kimberling also hit over .400 with 16 hits in 36 at bats for a .444 batting average. Robbie Marlett had 21 base hits in 55 official trips to the plate for a .382 average.
Emigh also led the team in on-base percentage (.537), followed by Faretta (.508), Kaleb Chronister (.500) and Kimberling (.488).
Korry Cowher had a team-best four home runs to go along with 18 RBI, Jesse Shaffer had 15 RBI, Robbie Marlett 13 and Kimberling 10.
The entire roster, included with batting averages: Derrick Emigh .490, Jordan Faretta .463, John Kimberling .444, Korry Cowher. 388, Richard Crabtree .385, Robbie Marlett .382, Jesse Shaffer .367, Kaleb Chronister .306, Seth Barrett .300, Ian Murray .296, Nick Patton .211, Matt Myers .208, and Drew Miller .125.
The team ended up with an overall record of 12-11, while playing against the best talent in Blair County and western Pennsylvania.
