Williamsburg man killed in Sunday ATV accident

A 24-year-old Williamsburg man was killed in an ATV accident early Sunday in Woodbury Township.
John Clinton Smith was traveling northwest on Royer Road about three-tenths of a mile from State Route 866 when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the road. His ATV left the road and traveled along a field before hitting a tree. The collision with the tree caused Smith to become airborne and hit another tree.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of the 2:30 a.m. accident by Blair County Coroner Patty Ross.
Smith was not wearing a helmet. State police said alcohol is suspected to have been a contributing factor in the accident. Authorities were continuing their investigation.
