Joshua House tournament this weekend in downtown Tyrone

Joshua House’s fourth annual street 3-on-3 basketball tournament is scheduled for this Saturday on Tenth Street in Tyrone.
The pre-registration deadline is July 15, and there are limited slots available.
The day of the event, registration closes at 9:30 a.m., and games will begin at 10 a.m. If teams pre-register, the cost is $45 per team. Same day registration is $60 per team.
There are several divisions of competition for the tournament including: sixth-seventh grade combined, eighth-ninth grade guys, eighth-ninth grade girls, tenth-twelfth grade guys and tenth-twelfth grade girls.
Open divisions include: all star, competitive, recreational and senior stars (40 years and older).
At the tournament, every player will receive a T-shirt and a minimum of three games, with double elimination.
According to director of Joshua House, Jim Kilmartin, there will be a dunk contest again this year and separate three-point contests for adults and teens.
Kilmartin said he is expecting at least 60 teams this year. He said it is a great fund raiser for Joshua House, as well as a great community event. Last year, it is estimated more than 500 people visited downtown Tyrone during the tournament.
