Concert Sunday at Reservoir Park

The Tyrone Regional Arts Council\’s summer concert series continues this Sunday at Tyrone\’s Reservoir Park with the music of the 1930s, 40s and 50s when Les Shaw\’s Big Band takes the stage.
Comprised of 17 playing members, this collection of some of the area\’s best musicians will return the audience to the days of the Oriental Ballroom and swing dancing. Recreating the unique sound of Big Bands like Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, and Tommy Dorsey is the hallmark of Les Shaw\’s Big Band which has been performing since 1972. The band\’s interpretation of some of the original arrangements are musically enjoyable for listening and for those that wish to dance under the trees.
Summer Sunday Concerts begin at 6 p.m. at the Reservoir Park amphitheater and are free of charge. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in St. Matthew\’s Hall on Cameron Avenue.
