TACO postpones annual Easter egg hunt to April 10 due to inclement weather

Due to the rainy weather, the Tyrone Area Community Organization has postponed its annual Easter egg hunt at Reservoir Park to April 10, beginning at 10 a.m.
The Easter egg hunt is available for kids zero to 12 years of age, and according to TACO president Ruth Brower, at least a couple hundred kids take part in the Easter egg hunt each year.
The kids are divided into different age groups, and each age group has its own Easter egg hunt in designated areas of the park.
Members of TACO meet early in the morning before the Easter egg hunt to hide different types of candy for the kids.
Members also hide two marked eggs in each designated area. The kids who find the eggs win a special Easter basket. The winners also get their pictures published in The Daily Herald.
Upcoming events include TACO’s annual Fish Rodeo that is scheduled for April 24 at Reservoir Park.
Members of TACO are also accepting nominations for “Boss of the Year” and “Distinguished Service Awards.”
Those individuals interested in nominating someone from the community should send nomination letters to: TACO, P.O. Box 128, Tyrone, PA 16686.
All nominations will be considered, and if anyone has questions call 684-1592 or 684-3386. The deadline for nominations is April 8.
