Second annual health fair scheduled at Tyrone Colonial Courtyard May 4

Tyrone Colonial Courtyard, in conjunction with Tyrone Hospital, is scheduled to host its second annual health fair, Tuesday, May 4 from 10-2 p.m.
“The purpose of the fair is to give the community an opportunity to free health screening, to make them more aware,” said community relations coordinator, Rose Long.
“It gives the community an opportunity to become aware of our facility and what we have to offer and demonstrate good health care.”
The scheduled events include free health screenings as well as door prizes and refreshments.
The general public is invited to attend, and Long said the health fair has become an annual event.
Numerous vendors will be offering screenings and other beneficial information.
The Tyrone Hospital has three such screenings scheduled which include: osteoporosis testing, physical therapy with balance testing and fall risk management.
Some of the other vendors include: Body Mind Connection with therapeutic massage, Dr. Thomas O’Brien with a focus on women’s healthy beginnings, Keystone Rehab with weight resistance lifting, Epworth Manor with arthritis care and paraffin wax treatment and private care resources.
Also, Omni Home Care with blood pressure screening, J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital with stress management, Healthy Alternatives with pulse oximetry, Shirley’s Shoes with professional pedorthic services and Home Instead with information on home care for the elderly.
