Hollidaysburg State Police
Police are investigating a hit and run accident on Parkside Drive in Antis Township which happened sometime just after midnight and 3 a.m. on March 21.
A truck owned by Jaime Mejia, 49, of Tyrone struck a gas meter in front yard of Carl Krider. The truck knocked the meter off its foundation and allowed gas to escape freely. The truck driver then left the scene without notifying authorities.
When the gas leak was discovered, Dominion Gas Company responded to the scene to shut off all service. Krider and his family were displaced from the home.
The truck was later found parked at Mejia’s residence and was seized.

Public drunkenness charges were filed against Peggy S. Sprankle of Tyrone after an incident on Wednesday afternoon on State Route 4019 about a mile north of Pinecroft in Antis Township.
Sprankle was observed walking along the public roadway and state police approached her and noticed an odor of alcohol on her breath and person. She was unable to perform a standard field sobriety test and was charged with public drunkenness.

Police were called to state Route 4019 in Pinecroft at 3:05 a.m. Saturday to investigate an accident.
Police said Dustin Michael Frank of Milton was southbound when he lost control of his SUV while rounding a curve, traveled across the northbound lane and left the roadway. The vehicle then struck some large rocks on the east side of the roadway, then struck the Pinecroft Fire Hall.
Police said charges pending.

Police report 39-year-old Jeffrey E. Sprankle of Bellwood violated a Protection From Abuse Order then he called an Altoona woman three times on March 22.

Joseph Randall Noel of Tyrone reported to police that someone entered his home at the corner of Lee and Forest streets in Antis Township sometime between December 1 and March 13. Police said a Ruger 357 Cal. stainless revolver and a SKF 7.62 MM semi auto rifle were taken.
Huntingdon state police
Police report a cement figurine featuring two deer was removed from a gravesite at Jacob’s Cemetery in Penn Township, Huntingdon County sometime between Feb. 14 and March 24.

Police report 29-year-old Scott Allen Davinsizer of Bellwood was arrested at 2:35 a.m. on Friday on suspicion of DUI following a routine traffic stop along I-99 in Antis Township.

Brian Gene Dean Jr., 19, of Tyrone was arrested on charges of simple assault, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and underage drinking after he assaulted a female in the parking lot of the Antis Township Sheetz at 10:15 p.m. Friday.
Police said Dean was arraigned and incarcerated in the Blair County Prison in lieu of $10,000 cash percentage.

No injuries were reported in an accident that occurred along SR 550 between Nealmont and Warriors mark at 10 a.m. March 16.
Police said James Edward Bridges Jr. of Tyrone was eastbound when he lost control of his Mazda on the snow-covered roadway. The vehicle rolled over and came to rest in a field on the south side of the roadway.
Philipsburg state police
Police were called to state Route 220 in Port Matilda at 3 a.m. this morning to investigate an accident.
Police said Christina T. Destefano of Bellwood swerved to miss a deer and lost control of her vehicle. The 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier traveled off the west berm and into a ditch before striking an embankment.
Destefano was not injured, but her vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage.

Hollidaysburg State Police
Police report a burglary on March 2 along Cherry Road in Tyrone between 8 p.m. and midnight. Property was removed from Harlan Cox’s residence and two teenagers have been charged with the incident. Nineteen-year old Troy C. Alley of 129 Cherry Avenue, Tyrone and an unidentified juvenile were charged in the case.

A residence in Tyrone Township was burglarized in the first week of March according to state police. Several items were taken from the residence which is part of the estate of James Lee Kruis of RD 3 Altoona. Kruis died in January of 2004.
Among the items taken were a Gateway 2000 hard drive, keyboard and monitor valued at $700, a grey Sony stereo system with a 50 CD changer valued at $300, assorted country music compact discs valued at $500 and a black RCA 27-inch television valued at $250. Police estimate the value of the items stolen $1,750 with damage to the property estimated at $200.

Five-hundred dollars in coins were taken during the first weekend in March from the residence of David Ballard of RR 3 in Altoona. Someone entered the residence on Sinking Valley Road in Tyrone Township. Police report known suspects and a continuing investigation.

A 41-year old Tyrone woman is accused of making harassing phone calls to two people in Frankstown Township. Timothy Sheehan of Hollidaysburg and Carin Conrad of Huntingdon contacted state police and reported Teri Lynne Moore had called them several times and made repeated threats toward them.
A citation against Moore is being filed in district court.

A one vehicle accident in Antis Township has led to DUI and other charges against 18-year old Matthew Rogers of 541 East 4th Street, Bellwood.
Rogers was traveling south on Kerbaugh Road a week ago Wednesday shortly before 2:30 a.m. According to the state police report, he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the road into a ditch. Rogers was taken into custody and transported to Tyrone Hospital where he submitted to a blood draw. He will face charges of DUI, underage drinking and related summary traffic offenses. Charges were expected to be filed at district court.

A drug possession case is being investigated in Antis Township by state police. The trooper filing the report indicated during a criminal trespass investigation somewhere off Riggles Gap Road, a man known to police was found to be in possession of suspected drug material. Police are continuing their investigation.

A hit and run accident has been reported in Snyder Township on State Route 4027 in Grazierville. Richard Hand of Duncansville was operating his vehicle north bound towards Tyrone. A vehicle operated by a white female going southbound traveled into the north lane forcing Hand’s vehicle on to the west berm.

The woman’s vehicle left side struck Hand’s vehicle on the left and then continued to travel south and fled the scene. Police report the woman was driving a blue car which suffered damage to the left side mirror. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at the Hollidaysburg State Police barracks.

Police report a known 46-year-old Altoona man entered the office of the Bellemeade Motel sometime between 3-3:30 p.m. Thursday and removed a cash box containing approximately $25 in change. The person then left the motel in a taxi cab.

Police report a bicycle was found along state Route 1001, just south of Stadium Drive in Antis Township at 8 p.m. Friday.

Police report a Tyrone couple was the victim of identity theft.
Police said the couple reported to police that someone known to them stole a credit card and made unaithorized purchases in the amount of $150, and also stole 10 designer dress shirts valued at $500.
