Port Matilda youth shot in foot with BB gun

State police at Philipsburg are saying a 12-year-old boy who was shot in the foot Saturday morning is doing okay.
The incident occurred at about 8:45 a.m. on Saturday along Sawmill Road in Halfmoon Township, Centre County.
Police said the 12-year-old Port Matilda boy and his 14-year-old friend from Curwensville were shooting cans outside a residence when the 14-year-old shot his own boot, discovering the BB would not penetrate. Thinking the BB would not go through the 12-year-old’s boot, he shot and the projectile penetrated both the boot, and his foot.
The boy was transported to the Centre Community Hospital where the BB was removed.
