Coupon books support American Lung Association

The American Lung Association of Pennsylvania is offering coupon books to help fight lung disease.
Each book contains seven coupons for either a medium French fry or small soft drink offer that can be redeemed at participating Burger King Restaurants through June. In addition, a $6 reduced admission coupon (for up to four people) to Hersheypark during the 2004 season is also included.
Each coupon book represents a $31 value in offer, all for only a $1 donation. In the past, some companies have included the coupon books as payroll stuffers, while area extended care facilities have provided them for all their residents to use enjoy.
Money raised stays in the area to provide American Lung Association programs and services for many of the 216,000 children afflicted with asthma in Pennsylvania. Childhood asthma, a serious lung disease that causes difficulty in breathing, is so prevalent, that is has become a leading cause of school absenteeism.
“We’re delighted that Burger King and Hersheypark are strong supporters of our effort,” said B. Derek Shaw, manager of special projects for the American Lung Association of Pennsylvania.
Throughout the year, the American Lung Association conducts family asthma sessions, Asthma Camp Experience, in-school services and programs including Open Airways for Schools, and Asthma Olympics. In addition, the American Lung Association provides educational materials for children and their families.
