Bellwood youth hurt in ATV accident

State police at Hollidaysburg report a 15-year-old Bellwood male sustained moderate injuries to his right leg following an all-terrain vehicle accident on Thursday in Antis Township.
Police did not release the identity of the juvenile, but said he was riding his Polaris ATV westbound on Moser Road at about 3:16 p.m. on Jan. 29 and while attempting to negotiate a right hand turn, lost control of his vehicle due to the throttle being stuck open.
Police said the juvenile observed an eastbound vehicle, operated by Thomas W. Oshell of Altoona, and attempted to cross the roadway. The ATV struck Oshell’s Ford Escort on the right front.
Police said after impact, Oshell’s vehicle was pushed into a snow bank.
Police said the juvenile was wearing a helmet at the time of the mishap. His ATV sustained moderate damage.
Oshell was not injured in the accident, but his vehicle sustained moderate damage.
