Tyrone council expected to name a new borough manager

Tyrone Borough Council is expected to name a new borough manager at tonight’s regular meeting scheduled for 7 p.m.
The position has been open since February, when former manager Alfred Drayovitch resigned. The borough had received about 20 applications for the position. Council decided to re-advertise for the position in October when it was unable to agree on a candidate from the available applicants.
Council is also planning on dealing with a number of other issues at tonight’s meeting including:
•board of health concerns;
•a proposed ordinance regarding tattoo establishments; and
•a final payment request involving the in-line hockey rink.
Tyrone Borough is also expected to address the fire chief’s position, following up on last month’s announcement that Fire Chief Jim Beckwith is planning on leaving the position on Dec. 31.
The 2004 budget is not listed on the agenda for tonight’s meeting. The budget was tentatively adopted last month pending revisions from the borough’s director of administration. Council will need to act on final adoption this month.
