TASD Alumni pig roast set for October 17

The Tyrone High School Alumni Association will hold its first pig roast prior to the Tyrone-Indian Valley football game on October 17.
“We decided that this would be a great way to bring alumni from all classes together,” said Leslie Ieraci, an officer of the TAHS Alumni Association. “It will be an informal gathering and it will give people from all classes of TAHS a chance to see what the Alumni Association is all about.”
The TAHS Alumni Association was formed two years ago and during the weekend of Oct. 17 and 18, will honor three members as distinguished alumni: Robert Hickes; Robert W. Charles; and David Morrow.
“We are hoping for a good turnout,” said Ieraci. “We are hoping that we have 100 people or more at the pig roast.”
The dinner will consist of port, sauerkraut, baked beans, potatoes, fruit, desert and beverage.
“We are hoping to see many former Tyrone graduates at the event,” Ieraci added. “We were thinking of having it at Reservoir Park, but decided that having it at the Church of the Good Shepherd would make it more convenient for the possibility of tailgating before the game.”
Tickets are available at The Frozen Cow in Tyrone and by calling 684-0710 ext. 4123. The pig roast is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. on October 17.
