Tyrone girls tennis drops match to Hollidaysburg

The Tyrone girls tennis team traveled to nearby Hollidaysburg for a match against the County Seaters. Hollidaysburg hopped over the .500 mark to improve to 3-2 with a victory over the Lady Eagles 5-2.
Hollidaysburg won all five singles matches and the Tyrone girls (1-4) came back to take both doubles matches.
The number one Lady Eagles’ doubles duo of Hilary McNelis and Missy Stager remained undefeated with a 9-7 win and the number two doubles team of Emily Fitzgerald and Becky Swann won 8-4.
“Hollidaysburg is getting stronger every week and played well today,” said Tyrone tennis coach Charles Fitzgerald. “Congratulations to Kaylee Fink on her first varsity match. She did very well. Emily Fitzgerald played an excellent match, one of her best. Hilary and Missy got a ‘come from behind’ win by making few mistakes.”
Tyrone travels to Altoona today for their rematch with the Lady Lions. Match time is set for 3 p.m.
