There was a very slight drop in fuel prices in Northern Blair County over the past week.
The average price per gallon of regular unleaded at the nine fuel stations in the area was $1.53, a penny drop from last week. All the stations, except for the Amoco station on Pennsylvania Avenue and Snappy’s in Bald Eagle posted $1.53 per gallon for their regular-grade of gasoline. The Amoco station had its regular grade at $1.67 and Snappy’s was posted at $1.55.
On average, mid-grade prices equaled out at a little more than $1.61 per gallon and premium fuel averaged a little more than $1.65 per gallon.
In Tyrone, prices at the Amoco station were $1.67 per gallon for regular unleaded and $1.76 for its “Super Unleaded.” At the Sheetz store at the corner of 14th Street and Logan Avenue, regular unleaded was priced at $1.53 per gallon; $1.59 for mid-grade; and $1.65 for premium.
At the Choice Store at the corner of Logan Avenue and West Tenth Street, regular unleaded was priced at $1.53 per gallon; $1.59 for mid-grade; and $1.65 for premium. The Uni-Mart at the corner of West 20th Street and Adams Avenue was selling regular unleaded for $1.53 per gallon; $1.59 for mid-grade; and $1.65 for premium.
The Kwik Fill station, located near the Bull Pen on Old Route 220, was selling regular unleaded for $1.53 per gallon and $1.59 per gallon for its “Premium” brand.
In Tipton, the Exxon station at Rossi Corner Store posted at $1.53 per gallon for regular unleaded; $1.59 for mid-grade; and $1.63 for premium, 2-cents cheaper than anywhere else in the area.
In Antis Township, the Sheetz store, located at the intersection of Old Route 220 and state Route 865, sold regular unleaded at $1.53 per gallon; $1.59 for mid-grade; and $1.65 for premium. Neighboring Martin’s General Store had the same prices at $1.53 per gallon for regular unleaded; $1.59 for mid-grade; and $1.65 for premium.
Snappy’s in Bald Eagle had prices of $1.55 for regular unleaded; $1.61 for mid-grade; and $1.65 for premium.

Motorists in Blair County saw yet another plunge in fuel prices over the past week.
The average price per gallon of regular unleaded at the nine fuel stations in the area was $1.54, a 6-cent plunge from last week and a 9-cent drop from two weeks ago. All the stations, except for the Amoco station on Pennsylvania Avenue and Snappy’s in Bald Eagle posted $1.53 per gallon for their regular-grade of gasoline. The Amoco station had its regular grade at $1.67 and Snappy’s posted its regular grade at $1.55.
On average, mid-grade prices equaled out at a little more than $1.61 per gallon and premium fuel averaged a little more than $1.66 per gallon.

With gas prices raising and dropping at alarming rates, The Daily Herald has decided to bring residents of Northern Blair County a weekly update of petroleum prices at fuel service stations in the area. All prices were gathered yesterday afternoon.
Those filling their automobiles with regular unleaded gasoline couldn’t find competitive prices as all nine stations in Northern Blair County were selling the grade at $1.69 per gallon. On average, mid-grade prices equaled out at a little more than $1.75 per gallon and premium fuel averaged a little more than $182.2 per gallon.
In Tyrone, prices at the Amoco station on Pennsylvania Avenue were $1.69 per gallon for regular unleaded; $1.79 for mid-grade; and $1.89 for premium. At the Sheetz store at the corner of 14th Street and Logan Avenue, regular unleaded was priced at $1.69 per gallon; $1.75 for mid-grade; and $1.81 for premium.
At the Choice Store at the corner of Logan Avenue and West Tenth Street, regular unleaded was priced at $1.69 per gallon; $1.75 for mid-grade; and $1.81 for premium. The Uni-Mart at the corner of West 20th Street and Adams Avenue was selling regular unleaded for $1.69 per gallon; $1.75 for mid-grade; and $1.81 for premium.
