New Pig Corporation schedules golf tournament to benefit multiple sclerosis

On Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, New Pig Corporation and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will present the Second Annual Anne E. Barnes Memorial Golf Tournament at Iron Masters Country Club in Roaring Spring.
There will be morning and afternoon sessions.
A devoted wife and mother of three children, Anne lost her struggle with MS in the summer of 2001. Her natural grace and personal integrity was with her until the end and in spite of difficult times, Anne kept her faith, her happy demeanor and selfless attitude. Her constant smile was contagious and her positive outlook on life was an inspiration to her family and to all who knew her.
New Pig invites everyone to participate in Central Pennsylvania’s “Golf Outing of the Year” and challenge you to help raise money to help end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.
There is a $100 per golfer donation with a four-person scramble format.
The donation entitles each person to: 18 holes of golf, cart, refreshments, pig roast and meatball sandwiches during golfing, and a dinner following the event prepared by the restaurant at Iron Masters Country Club.
Organizers said they will run morning and afternoon sessions – filling up the afternoon first.
McDonald’s will provide breakfast for the morning teams. Each participant will also receive a golf hat, towel, balls and tees, compliments of New Pig Corporation.
Plaques will be given to the first, second and third place winners (men and women teams). There will also be a $500 cash prize for being closest to the pins (three of them) and for the man and woman with the longest drive.
There will be “Hole-in-One” prizes at the 9th, 13th and 16th holes. The 9th and 16th holes will feature cars donated by Ziegler Chevrolet Oldsmobile, Inc. and John Stuckey Ford and 13th hole will be one week in a three bedroom Villa and Hilton Head Island Resort and $250 in spending money provided by Preferred Plumbing, Heating and Cooling.
Deadline for registration is Sept. 5, 2003 and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Tee and Green Spots are available for $100 and there are varying sponsorship levels available for corporate teams.
