The View From My Relicner

What an interesting weekend.
I never knew it could rain so much in a short period of time.
It was a great night for the Tyrone Legion baseball team last night. It wasn’t because we won a tough football game 20-10 last night, but because Clint Wilson was out of the hospital and in the stands. Clint still has some recovering to do, but the fact that he is out of the hospital is a good sign.
I watched a part of history come down last night. The old fire hall of the Hookies came crashing down to the ground. It’s kind of interesting that the old Hookies came down while the Citizens Fire Company’s funding was pulled by Tyrone Borough.
What a great run the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils are on. They will play for the PIAA Class A State Championship on Friday in Williamsport. Game time is 11 a.m. Good luck Blue Devils and the last person out of town on Friday morning, turn out the lights.
Coming soon, the Daily Herald Summer Fun Guide. We will have information about some of the things to do and see in Central Pennsylvania throughout this summer.
A quick note about the recent changes here at the Herald. This is a good thing. I get to have more of a life than I had before. You can’t argue with that.
Tonight, the Tyrone and Bellwood-Antis school boards will hold their work sessions. The main item on both agendas will be the 2003-04 budget. The budgets are available for public viewing at both district’s administrative offices during business offers.
A quick political note that many may not be familiar with. When you got your new drivers license, you probably registered to vote. Many people in the area think they aren’t registered voters, but because of the “motor voter” law you probably are. Check with the Blair County Court House to see.
This week we will have a special “Good Luck Blue Devils” banner that will be inserted in the paper.
What a weekend at Pocono. I tried to talk Jim Phillips into pulling the partially constructed Ark behind the motorhome. Thankfully, we weren’t flooded out and Tony Stewart scored the victory. What more can a guy ask for?
Enjoy your week and we will talk later.
