Miller receives endorsement from police

Rev. Norman Huff and Harry Sickler Jr., chairman and treasurer, respectively of the Fred Miller for District Justice Committee, announced Miller has received three endorsements in the upcoming election for Northern Blair County District Justice.
The Pennsylvania State Police Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 57 and local lodge 2779 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District 98 (IAM&AW), which represents both the Tyrone Borough and Bellwood Borough police officers, provided endorsements to the candidate.
The IAW&AW endorsed Miller based on his “experience and past committment to law enforcement,” according to the endorsement letter provided to The Daily Herald.
“It is an extreme honor and privilege to be endorsed by the officers of Tyrone Borough and Bellwood Borough as well as the members of the Pennsylvania State Police.”
The Northern Blair Magesterial District encompasses the residents of Bellwood Borough, Antis Township, Snyder Township, Tyrone Borough and parts of Tyrone Township.
Miller was appointed by former Governor Mark Schweiker in May 2003 replace John Greene, who retired. Miller’s term runs through January 1, 2004.
