Tyrone Area 3rd and 4th Grade Basketball

Walk’s Trade took it to DeGols by a score of 22-4 to stay just one game back of front-running Tyrone Elks in the first game reported in the Tyrone YMCA 3rd and 4th grade basketball league. Brooke Pierson led a well-balenced attack with six points for the winners, folwed by Richard Crabtree and Richard Stever with four points each and Derek Emigh, Jimmy Ferguson, Chelsey Hook and Olivia Stever all with two points. Kevin Rodkey had all four of DeGol’s points.
O’s Sew Shop defeated Michaels’ Photography 17-9 behind a league-high 12 points for Kyler Johnson. Tyler Glashouser and Brent Stewart had two points each for O’s Sew Shop and Ian Murray had one point. Derek Denny fronted Michael’s with eight points and Rayne Neving got the other score.
DelGrosso’s picked up their first win of the season in a very low-scoring 6-2 win over Tyrone Colonial Courtyard. Kaleb Chronister led DelGrosso’s with four points and Joshua Burwell added two points. Kayla Swope tallied Tyrone Colonial’s two points.
Tyrone Elks remained undefeated in the final contest turning back Frito Lay 16-10. Charley Burket scored eight points and Korry Cowher and Justin Miller had four points each for the Elks, while Brianna Hoover and Casey Baird led Frito Lay with four and Jordan Fareta had two points.

DeGol’s (2-7) picked up their second win of the season by doubling up Tyrone Colonial Courtyard 24-12. James Russell led DeGol’s with 10 points, and Tucker Hardy fronted Tyrone Colonial (1-8) with three points.
In the closest contest of the day, DelGrosso’s (2-7) edged Michaels’ Photography 20-17. Thad O’Shea paced the winners with five points and Derek Denny had 10 points for Michaels’ (4-5).
Walk’s Trades (8-1) decisioned Frito Lay 28-10 with a league-high 14 points from Derrick Emigh leading the way. Casey Baird had eight points for Frito Lay (5-4).
Tyrone Elks (9-0) lept their undefeated string intact with a 22-18 triumph over O’s Sew Shop (5-4). Denver Burket and Korry Cowher each had six points to lead the winners, while Tyler Glashouser had a game-high eight ponts for O’s Sew Shop.

Reliance Bank edged Joshua House by a single point 79-78, in the opening game in the Men’s 25 and Over League. Craig Hunter led Reliance with 22 points, while Jim Kilmartin poured in a league-high 29 points for Joshua House.
Team # 3 used 25 points by Jim Koeller to down a pesky P. S. Printing 73-67 who were bidding for their first win. P. S. Printing was fronted by Rich Shoop with 15 points.
Hampton Inn defeated Independents 69-50. Steve Bryant led Hampton Inn with 17 points and Randy Gorecki had 20 points for Independents.
Jan 15.
Reliace Savings poured in a season-high 94 points in defeating Hampton Inn 94-75 and remain undefeated at 5-0. Craig Hunter scored a league-high 29 points for Reliance, while Richard Stever scored 16 points for Hampton Inn (2-3).
Joshua House (4-1) used a 25-point performance by Travis Anderson to knock off Team # 3 88-72. Mark Deubeis led Team # 3 (3-2) with 25 points also.
P. S. Printing won for the first time, defeating Independents 75-49. Rich Shoop led P. S. Printing with 21 points and Jim Cushion had 17 points to front Independents (0-5).

Tyrone Elks (5-0) kept their record perfect while handing Walks Trades (4-1) their first defeat in the opening game on the card. Elks won 20-15 with Denver Burket leading the way with 11 points, Jordan Coral and Korry Cowher each scored four points and Justin Miller and Charlie Burket scored a bucket each. Richard Crabtree scored seven points for Walks, while Derrick Emigh had four points and Jimmy Ferguson and Jesse Shaffer had two points apiece.
O’s Sew Shop (3-2) moved over the .500 mark with a 22-4 win over DelGrosso’s (1-4). Clint Muir and Kyler Johnson fronted the attack for the winners with eight points each, Tyler Glashouse scored four points and Brent Stewart had two. Josh Burwell and Joey DelGrosso had DelGrosso’s points with two each.
Michael’s Photography (3-2) also climbed over the .500 mark by edging DeGol’s 14-12 by a single basket. Raymond Nevling and Derek Denny each scored six points to lead Michael’s and Cody Dickson had two. Kevin Rodkey scored seven points for DeGol’s (1-4) and Andrew DeGol and Curtis Hoover had two points and James Russel added a free throw.
Frito Lay (3-2) took a 14-10 win from Tyrone Colonial Courtyard (1-4) in the final game reported. Jordan Faretta scored eight points to lead Frito Lay, followed by Brandon Osbourne with four and Brooke Romano had two points. Kayla Swope was a one-person team scoring all 10 of Colonial Courtyard’s points.

Walks Trades opened the night by keeping the pressure on Tyrone Elks by blasting Tyrone Colonial Courtyard 38-3 to improve their record to 5-1. Derrick Emigh scored a league-best 18 points, Richard Crabtree threw in 12 more, and Jimmy Ferguson and Ashley Ford added four each. Kayla Swope had a basket for Colonial Courtyard (1-5) and Christian Getz chipped in with a foul shot.
O’s Sew Shop (4-2) edged DeGol’s 17-15, in the closest game of the night behind six points by Tyler Glashouse, four points from Kyler Johnson and Ian Murray and three by Brent Stewart. Kevin Rodkey led DeGol’s (1-5) with 10 points, Curtis Hoover had three and James Russel had two.
Elks (6-0) maintained their slim one-game lead in the standings with a 19-10 win over Michael’s Photography (3-3). Korry Cowher fronted the Elks attack with 11 points and Charlie Burket added four and Denver Burket and Nick Patton had two points each. Derek Denny had six points for Michael’s and Raymond Nevling added four.
Frito Lay (4-2) ended the evening with a victory by the same 19-10 score over DelGrosso’s. Jordan Faretta led Frito Lay with 13 points followed by Brooke Romano with four points and Brianna Hoover with two. Thad O’Shea led DelGrosso’s (0-6) with six points and Kaleb Chronister added four.

Team # 3 defeated Independents 97-57 behind 34 points from Mark Derubeis to even their record at 1-1 after the first two weeks of the YMCA winter season in the first game reported. Randy Gorecki led Independents (0-2) with 20 points.
Reliance Bank (2-0) won for the second straight week, by turning back P. S. Printing 78-69. Murray Fetzer fronted Reliance Bank with 21 points and Rich Shoop tossed in 17 for P. S. Printing (0-2).
In the final game on the card, Jim Kilmartin poured in a league-high 39 points to lead Joshua House (2-0) to a 76-53 victory over Hampton Inn to remain undefeated and keep the pressure on Reliance Bank. Rick Thornhill and Mark Sievers each scored 11 points for Hampton Inn (1-1).
