Tyrone junior high boys down Penns Valley for ninth straight

Monday the Baby Eagles made the trip to Spring Mills for a date with Penns Valley. They came away with a 53-26 victory, their ninth straight.
The first quarter saw Tyrone get into foul trouble, putting the Rams into the bonus early. But the Rams weren’t able to capitalize, and the Eagles took a 13-7 lead. In the second quarter, Tyrone brought the defensive clamps out, holding PV to just two points, giving Tyrone a 26-9 halftime lead. From there, it was just taking care of business, as the Eagles carried the second half by 10 (27 – 17) for the win.
Doug Morrow led 11 players in the scoring column, with 13 points. Adam Corle was next with 12, and Adam Shaffer chipped in seven.
Tyrone next travels to Huntingdon Friday for a date with the undefeated Bearcats.
Game time is 4 p.m.
Tyrone eighth graders also came home with a win at Penns Valley, Monday night by a score of 29-20.
Tyrone was led by Tyler Hoover with six points and Jaime Levinson with five. The Tyrone eighth graders are now 5-3 on the year.
