Eagle junior high shells Huntingdon

Tyrone’s Junior High Boys Basketball team ran their record to 10-2 on Friday afternoon with a 43-33 win over the homestanding Bearcats of Huntingdon.
Huntingdon scored the first two points of the contest, but then the Baby Eagles went on a 17-2 run and continued to build the margin to a 26-15 lead going into the locker room at halftime.
That lead had ballooned to 39-20 by early in the fourth quarter, and from there the Little Eagles coasted.
Adam Shaffer fronted the scoring for the Tyrone junior high with a dozen points, followed by Adam Corle’s 10 points and Josh Clark’s eight points.
Tyrone’s eighth graders improved their record to 6-3 with a 33-32 win over the Bearcat eighth graders.
Tyler Golden had eight points and Tyler Hoover followed with six. Andy Ashcroft finished with five, including a big three-pointer late in the 4th quarter.
Tyrone’s next outing is next Tuesday at the Tyrone Area High School gym when they entertain Bald Eagle Area. Eighth grade tipoff is set for 3:15 p.m., followed by the Junior High team.
