Local dentist buys back Halloween candy for a good cause

Dr. Christopher Pine is providing cash for your child’s Halloween candy.
With Halloween ending National Orthodontic Health Monty, Pine will offer one dollar per pound of candy for up to five pounds of candy to his orthodonic patients.
Campbell and Pine will match dollar for dollar and donate the dollar amount to the Tyrone Area YMCA to help with their back tax payments.
“It’s a fun way to reward the kids for their efforts on Halloween,” said Pine. “We want to help orthodonic patients avoid the potential for harming their braces or teeth.”
Parents of children who wear braces may want to check out their children’s candy and eliminate these potential brace busters. Caramel, peanuts, taffy, taco chips, bubble gum and popcorn are all potential brace busters.
The candy buy back will take place at Dr. Pine’s office in Tyrone at 2 Hospital Drive on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
