Lady Eagles fall to Ligonier Valley in district quarterfinals

The Tyrone girls volleyball team ran into a wall in their quarterfinal District Six volleyball match against Ligonier Valley on Thursday night.
In the match played at Richland High School, the Tyrone Lady Eagles finished a great season by dropping two games to to the Lady Mounties 4-15, 11-15.
Stephanie Catich had five service points for Tyrone, Lauren Haag had 12 kills and Amber DelBaggio has 20 assists.
“Our serve receive was off in the first game and we didn’t give ourselves enough opportunities to play aggressively,” explained Tyrone coach Dave Eckberg. “The girls settled in for the second game and really played strong against a very good opponent. Lauren was putting the ball away and we served tough. Ligonier Valley was as good a team as we’ve seen all year. Our girls played their hearts out and I really couldn’t ask for anything more from them.”
