Tyrone girls fall to Pirates

Williamsburg shelled the Tyrone Girls Junior High Basketball team on Monday afternoon 53-18 to move to 13-3 on the season.
Tiffany Bradford led the Lady Eagles with six points, Katie Glace scored three points and Sharon long and Kayla Corle had two each. Carlee Roth pulled down six rebounds and Katie Glace got five.
Chelsea Rhodes led Williamsburg with 10 points and Kara Yeager, Marci Chamberland and Valerie Wyland each had nine points.
The Williamsburg seventh/eighth grade girls also turned back the Tyrone seventh/eighth grade girls 17-12.
Brooke Garbinsky led the Tyrone attack with three points.
“We played pretty well early,” said Tyrone coach Kerry Naylor, “but Williamsburg turned it up and we never answered.”
The Tyrone junior high girls are back in action this afternoon hosting Penns Valley at 3:15 p.m.
