Snyder Board mulling ordinance

The Snyder Township Board of Supervisors are looking over a draft ordinance that would require any business to inform the Township that it plans to do business there.
The Ordinance that was prepared by Township solicitor Allen Gibboney will also require an annual fee.
The Supervisors are mulling over the amount of days prior to opening the business and the fe charge.
The suggested time is 45 days and the fee is $20.
The idea of the Ordinance came to light when Pyramid Healthcare opened Greentree Village in Bald Eagle recently.
In other Township news, the Board voted to give a $1,000 donation to the Tyrone Area YMCA. They awarded the contract for Salt to American Rock Salt for the low bid of $19,270 and anti skid to New Enterprise for the low bid of $9,450.
The Supervisors are also setting up a meeting with Tyrone Borough concerning the increase in the cost of Fire Service. The current fee is $15,237.
The Township named Linda Albright to serve as the Township’s representative on the Tyrone-Snyder Library Board. She replaces Jean Parker who will represent Tyrone.
There is a Road Inspection meeting scheduled for October 15 at 8 a.m. and the next scheduled meeting of the Supervisors is November 4 at 9 a.m. in the Township Municipal Building.
