Riggleman to be charged today

The man who allegedly supplied alcohol to a former Tyrone Area High School football player who died in a single-vehicle accident in May is being charged criminally in connection with the case.
According to Holllidaysburg-based state police, Kenneth James Riggleman II, 22, of 751 Washington Ave., Tyrone will be charged today with a single count of furnishing alcohol to minors. The charges will be filed with District Magistrate Fred Miller in Tyrone.
Killed in the crash was 16-year-old Randy Estright of Tyrone. He was a former football player and wrestler with TAHS.
According to police, Estright and two other juveniles, who were all in the vehicle that crashed along state Route 453 at 1:30 a.m. May 26, were drinking at a party in a wooded area along SR 453, approximately four-and-a-half miles north of Tyrone.
Through further investigation, police learned two of the minors that were at the party had acquired the alcoholic beverages from Riggleman, who purchased the alcohol for them at the Logan Beverage store in Tyrone.
A preliminary hearing will be held within 3-10 days of Riggleman’s arraignment.
