Locals win at Cove Dairy Show

The Morrison Cove Dairy Show is one of the largest dairy shows in the state. It was a hot week for the nearly 400 entries; fans and spritzers were running non-stop.
This show is also the county show for Blair County 4-H and FFA members. The District 4-H/FFA show finishes the week on Friday. Winning a blue ribbon at the District show qualifies an animal to enter the state show held in Harrisburg in conjunction with the All-American Dairy Show in September.
The Sinking Valley 4-H Dairy Club participated in the Morrison Cove Dairy Show. Mary Elyn Hunter daughter of Charlie and Kim Hunter of Tyrone won Champion First Year Showman. Tucker Hardy of Sinking Valley received a halter for placing in the contest.
Doug and Mary Morrow of Sinking Valley also received awards. Doug’s cow received Reserve Grand Champion in the 4-H/FFA Show. His sister Mary received an engraved pen for completing ten years of 4-H project work.
